Unlike self-balancing scooters or hoverboards majority of which were recalled by the United States’ Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) due to safety concerns, electric scooters have not had issues with the commission.

The E200 from Razor is a great little scooter and basically where the adult range begins. Its biggest problem is basically the E300, which is better or the same on every count and priced far too closely for comfort. I’m not even going into too much detail here – if you’re in the market for a scooter like this, check out the current price for the E300. If the price difference is less than fifty bucks get the E300. Especially if you weigh more than the 150 pounds the E200 supports.
Since local and state laws may vary, we recommend that you check with your local DMV for restrictions and guidelines to operating this unit in your area in case they have special provisions which may overrule the Federal Bicycle Law.

I use it in the evenings to go to our local grocery store to buy a couple of items with my 3 kids each of them who join me with their own scooters or crazy carts. Helps us bond together during our family time!! So glad I bought one for myself!! Thanks Razor for all the amazing products you bring out to the market. My kids love your brand. We all are looking forward to buying the Turbo jetts next!

My Take: The Razor E300 electric scooter is worth its fair price. This e-scooter is ideal for bringing fun to both adults and kids. It is good for riding in the local neighborhood. However, I would not advise anyone to buy this scooter for commuting to work as it is not foldable, takes long to charge, short range and no LCD to monitor the battery level and speed. Just go ahead and have some crazy fun or go to work, just don’t forget to wear your helmet.
It is also possible to use the Reddie as a regular kick scooter without damaging the motor, so if the battery runs out just kick the e-scooter home and give it a charge to be back to normal. The 12v battery can fully be charged within a few hours. Plug it in at the office for a full charge for the ride home. Here are the main features:
These scooters are all starting to hit American shores, all banking on the same thing: That there are lots of people looking for a faster, easier way to get to the grocery store or the subway station. They’re hoping that scooters are just the right mix of powerful, portable, and useful. They’re also hoping to deal with some important questions about where you can and can’t legally ride an electric scooter. Ducorsky wants to sell UScooters to you and me, but he’s also imagining them as a great way for pilots to get around airports, for cruise patrons to see the sights on and for managers to get around factories. “There are so many markets for this thing,” he says. It’s hard to disagree.
Before I start looking at the scooters worth spending your money on, I just want to remind you that many scooters have a pretty low weight limit, since they are aimed at kids. I’ve decided to list scooters here that have a weight limit which can support an average adult – in other words 150 pounds or more. If you’re lighter than this there’s no reason you can’t check out some models meant for kids and teens, but other aspects, such as how high the handlebars can go, may still make them unsuitable.
This place has the best customer service that I have seen in a long time. A guy named Rod Jenkins showed me there are still people who sell and care. This guy walked me through the whole process, even sent delivery confirmation and email with direction for the electric bike. Thanks for all your time and effort. Happy Biking .
The XB-504 Electric Bike is the ultimate alternative for commuters that need a quick way to travel but do not want the expense of operating a vehicle or motorcycle. The XB-504 is classified as an electric bicycle (since pedals can be used) under the Federal Bicycle Law HR727,  but the pedals do not need to be installed and this allows it to operate like an electric moped motorcycle but you do not need to register it or carry a drivers license to operate it.
Aesthetically, it comes in a beautiful LCD display with a digital speedometer/odometer/trip-meter/headlight, temperature, battery life indicator, etc. We can go on forever in describing how amazing this folding electric scooter is!
Federal law from 2002 defined electric bikes as “two or three wheeled vehicle with fully operable pedals, a top speed when powered solely by the motor under 20 mph and an electric motor that produces less than 750 W (1.01 hp).” If the electric scooter falls into this category, it’s street legal, and doesn’t require license and registration in most states. To fit within these guidelines some manufacturers have slapped on a pair of pedals onto the vehicles that look more like a Vespa, less like a moped, and nothing like a bicycle. This not only looks very strange, but also makes pedaling very difficult and, in some cases, practically impossible. But if you are willing to get over this, you will be allowed to ride on public roads at a speed of up to 20mph without registration.
“We had regulations and operational activities that didn’t look at a system,” said Stephen Goldsmith, a Harvard University professor and former deputy mayor of New York, talking about his efforts to integrate ride-hailing companies in New York. “No one was thinking about mobility; everybody was thinking about how you regulate a particular slice of it.”
